Highlife singer, Flavour, finally got to launch his night club on Wednesday, 24th October, 2012 in Enugu. ’2nite club’, as the hang out is called, is set to change the face of night activities in the coal town of Enugu as it boasts spacious spaces (inside and outside), modern clubbing facilities, water-tight security, VIP area and fully air conditioned halls among others.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde honoured with BEEFTA Film Icon Award

For her contribution to the film industry in Africa, Europe and globally, Nollywood superstar, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has been recognized with a special honorary award, BEFFTA FILM ICON.
BEFFTA (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) award is Europe’s biggest award ceremony celebrating achievements of black and ethnic personalities in showbiz globally.
BEFFTA founder, Pauline Long, praised Omotola’s great talent and commended her for being a mentor to the young ones aspiring to get into the film industry.
Omotola, a World Food Programme Ambassador and Amnesty International activist, started her career at a tender age of 17 and has appeared in over 300 hundred movies, often playing the lead roles.

Samuel peters, known musically as Embraze, was born in makurdi, benue state on the 13th of september 1991. Started his early life in benue where he schooled at Nativity primary. He moved to Lagos in 1995, where he completed his primary education at Adeola kiddies college. He then went on to attend Kings college lagos. His Love for music was discovered, started as a drummer boi in my school band but later moved to Stars Comprehensive College in Ibadan where I finally started my young singing career. Last week thursday, Essence visited a studio somewhere in Festac to re-voice a song she felt was quite noisy in the QuintEssential album; while the producer had other ideas to how the beat of the song should go, Essence decided to write down a different intro; In the process she ended up writing a new song entirely; All these lasted for 2to3hours only, and here it is today.

KWAM 1′S DAUGHTER HONEY B RELEASES “SEMPE”

A new musical family dynasty in the making? Right after Sultan Marshal, another offspring of Fuji star Kwam 1, Honey B, releases her first single Sempe featuring her father.

Honey Zainab Marshal, better known by her stage name Honey B, was born in Lagos Nigeria but moved to London at the tender age of 3 months with her mother. After graduating from The BRIT School of Performing Arts in Croydon were she studied Music, she is now ready to take music on as her career, and starting off her career with a duet with her famous father on a remake of one of his popular tracks is not a bad choice.

As a new artist, Honey B has an eclectic style, Jazz, Hip Hop, Afrobeats, RnB and even Fuji, and seems willing to take risks and try anything. She says "I am an artist. I have spent years studying and researching everything I can about the music industry and becoming an artist. I am not only honing my songwriting skills, but I am also developing my total package including my image and my stage presence".

In addition to her father Kwam 1, Honey's influences include Nina Simone, Destinys Child, Whitney Houston, Brandy and Lauryn Hill.
